A Day at the Beach:- While a beach is the number one most highly sought after aspect of a vacation spot, even that can get old after a day or two? Beach Delight:- Of course, you will want to spend your first couple of days at the beach. Long Beach provides plenty of beachfront areas for your vacation enjoyment, such as Mothers' Marina where you will find many beachfront activities. Among these are skiing, boating, and just good old fashioned fun in the sand. You can spend the mornings building sand castles and playing in the water and the evenings just relaxing, taking in the sun, and enjoying the awesome views. Casting a Line:- If you are the outdoorsy type, you can spend some time down at the Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier. This is Long Beach's premier fishing spot. Thousands of varieties of exotic undersea wildlife are caught from this pier on a daily basis. Wouldn't it be something to catch a shark? You don't even have to worry about getting hungry while you are here, as there is a snack stand on the pier itself. Running out of bait? No worries, as the snack stand also doubles as a bait shop.

Wealthy Waters:- Another popular and relaxing family activity, particularly undertaken in the late afternoon hours, is that of walking down to the Alamitos Bay Marina. Here you will marvel as you walk past hundreds of luxurious yachts owned by the wealthy and famous. Each ship is an aquatic work of art in itself. There are plenty of evening caf's and diners in the area, making this an ideal place to eat and then walk it off afterwards. Then, sit at the end of the docks as the sun goes down in the distance, a majestic mirrored reflection off the salty seawater. Go Wild at the Aquarium:- Then, of course, everyone that visits Long Beach California makes it a priority to see the cities number one tourist attraction, the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific. This is a wonderful gigantic aquarium filled with every imaginable type of aquatic wildlife, from manta rays to sharks, and even squids! The Aquarium of the Pacific is original in that it offers a multitude of undersea petting zoos. You can actually touch sharks here, if you are bold enough!

Follow the Rainbow:- After your visit to the Aquarium, as it is an all day attraction, take the kids and wind down next door at the Rainbow Harbor Marina. This massive marina could be a peaceful finish to your Aquarium experience or a whole day worth of vacation excitement in itself. This area is a seemingly endless circle of docks where you will find every imaginable type of ocean vessel. The true fun of it, though, is in the activities that the Rainbow Harbor presents to visitors. Here you can fish off the numerous docks or even charter a boat for some real deep-sea fishing! You can rent speedboats, jet skis, and Sea Doos. At any given moment, you can depart on one of the many shuttle buses that travel through the area between other Long Beach attractions.

With over ten thousand major sites, festivals, activities, and attractions in general, you can spend a day at the beach and still fill the rest of your vacation with new and exciting events at Long Beach.
