To help you find a good gold seller for you based on your needs, here are a few tips...

#1: Check the sellers PayPal account:

When you buy for items through PayPal, just before you purchase, you get to see the sellers rating and how many verified customers they have sold to. This is a good indication to see if the seller is very big. While there are small gold sellers who are legitimate, it is typically better to go with already established sellers, because at least you know they'll deliver your gold. There are too many scam merchants around for it to be worth the risk.

#2: Do some research on the seller's domain:

It is actually possible to see how long a domain has been registered, as well as the owner and their address (if the domain isn't guarded). If the domain has been registered for a long time, then the seller is more likely to be legitimate. You can also see older versions of what their site looked like in the past at archive.org

#3: Read what other people have to say about the seller:

You can always do a Google search on a company's name if you want to find out more about them. Also, try to read reviews of what other websites have to say. You can check forums as well if you still want more information on the seller.

#4: Find out about their customer service:

One thing you can do before you buy any gold with a seller is check out their customer support. Send them an email about something, or talk to a sales representative with live chat if possible. If they respond quickly, then they are probably a good seller who is worth dealing with.
