It is every anime lover's dream to be able to watch all of his favorite series and episodes online, which provides greater flexibility compared to having all of these episodes stored on a home computer. The storage advantage alone is a good reason to go out and browse the web for hours in order to find a good web source which would offer such useful feature.

General video sites store all kinds of video content which in many cases tend to be highly untargeted with wrong titles, tags, etc. Not to even mention that the videos are often limited in size which causes uploaders to provide one episode in three different parts which is very annoying.

This becomes even more of a factor when we try to watch anime series which we love such as Sailor Moon or the even more popular Naruto. Just imagine watching the last battle between Naruto and Sasuke and right when Naruto's Chakra makes him turn into a Fox Demon, the video gets interrupted!. That would certainly annoy more than one viewer, this is why many anime fans turn to different sources such as P2P sites and download applications but as previously mentioned the downside is that in order to store a full anime series at 1000 Kbs bit rate and 128 mp3 CBR audio, the average size for an anime episode is between 170-200 MB, which makes a full series of 24-26 episodes 4-6 Gigabytes!. That's certainly a huge file size specially if you don't have broadband and a huge hard drive!.

Another great advantage of using online sites to watch these anime series is being able to share our opinions with people who have similar interests as ours. Networking is actually big, it is the reason internet is what it is today. There is nothing better than having someone to talk to about the way "Grimjaw Jaggerjack" killed the annoying Lupi (Bleach) with a point blank cero, or how incredibly psychological series such as "Monster", "GITS" and "Death Note" are.

Many may argue that message boards are the way to go but several of them will not allow users to even post a link to the site where such episode can be seen, it is mostly discussion, so if a fan doesn't know where get these episodes he/she'll be lost in translation (figuratively speaking), which brings us to an even more important topic, fan subs.

We all know that if an English, Portuguese, etc. speaking person wants to enjoy a good anime series, he/she'll have to look for fan subs which depending on the region are hard to find. In the english speaking world there are several fan sub groups which are very well known due to their translation quality and speed of releases. As you see sites which offer all of these characteristics are without a doubt the best places where anime fans can hang out.
