The Fujitsu P42HTS40GS Flat Screen TV - Good But Not Enough For The Money Charged.

Acquiring that new TV Spending what could be a considerable amount of cash should make you think seriously about what is essentially a major domestic investment.

The way that technology changes so quickly nowadays you would be wise to consider carefully any investment and try and ensure that it remains compliant with all possible standards.

Digital television (DTT) is a telecommunication system for broadcasting and receiving moving pictures and sound by means of digital signals, in contrast to analogue signals used by analogue (traditional) TV. There are a number of different ways to receive digital television. One of the oldest means of receiving DTV (and TV in general) is using an antenna (known as an aerial in some countries).

The purpose of this article is to take a look at what is on offer with the new generation of Flat Screen Televisions available and in this case the television in particular is the Fujitsu P42HTS40GS.

The P42HTS40GS is a 42in Plasma TV and the prices for these would be in the region of 2000 pounds sterling or 4000 US dollars. The screen resolution is 1024 X 1024 and with regards to being HD Ready the answer is yes. The Fujitsu has 3 (3 RGB) scarts and the type and number of Multimedia interfaces the P42HTS40GS uses is HDMI and DVI and there are one of each. The type of Tuner for this TV is Analogue and the Fujitsu is available from limited outlets only.

So how would we rate the Fujitsu P42HTS40GS?

The most obvious place to start with as far as TV's are concerned would be the picture quality and our score here would be 2, next we would look at the sound quality and our view of this would be not applicable. Taking a look at the number of relevant connections and their availability, our score would be 10. If we take a look at the overall "featureability" our score would be 8 and the final individual verdicts would relate to the ease of use and overall value for money and our scores here would be, 8 and 4 respectively.

Taking everything into consideration our overall view of the package would be had this been s lightly cheaper model or certainly within the budget "category / bracket" then we might have been slightly more enthusiastic about this but not for the money it is supposedly asking then it doesn't do enough for us I'm afraid.

With the wide range and variety of makes and models available for you to choose from it is unlikely that you will not find something to suite your taste or satisfy any budgetary constraints that you might have. You could be completely avant-garde and stay in the forefront of fashion and design or you could decide to take perhaps the safer option and go for one of the established makes and models available.
