Can't stand the hair? Here are some Methods for removing hair off of your body
In this day and age where a lot of people world wide are removing unwanted body hair, there are many different ways to do so. Shaving is the most used method by far for both men and women. But there are other methods that are used as well from depilatories to waxing and tweezing. No matter how you want to do it, hair removal this day and age is an easy process.
The process of shaving using razors has been around for thousands of years in the realm of the mens world. Men have been shaving facial hair since the dawn of ages. It was not until World War I that women began partaking in the habit of shaving as well. This is done using a clean razor with a sharp blade. There are many different types of razors that one can choose from ranging from disposables to electric razors. Regardless of what you choose, make sure that you remember to moisten the skin or you will cause ‘razor burn’, a not so pleasant red bumpy rash that takes a few days to go away. Not only is this a problem, but most people who shave will have to shave within a few days as the hair grows back rather quickly.
Another option that one has in hair removal would be through the use of depilatories. Depilatories are chemicals that act like razors. This type of removal system is usually available in creams, lotions, roll on and even gel form. Depilatories contain chemical, calcium thiogylcolate, which is a highly alkaline substance that dissolves protein structures of hair. This allows it to be brushed from the surface of the skin very easily. If you are going to use this method, make sure to follow the directions carefully so that you don’t cause a skin reaction or chemical burn. This is a good method to use on bikini areas, under the arms and on the face as well as the legs.
Tweezing and waxing in the last method that you have to choose from. Tweezing hair means using tweezers to pluck unwanted hair from the skin. This is a pretty good method for removing unwanted facial hair such as eyebrows. Tweezing is not a practical method to use on larger areas. This is where waxing comes into play. Waxing is the process of using a hot wax in a thin layer over the area of hair growth. This wax is then allowed to cool. Once cooled, the wax becomes embedded in the hair and then it is pulled off in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Waxing can be done in spas or at home. However, waxing at home can cause bruising and infection if not done correctly. It is recommended that you seek a professional for the first few waxings in order to get your skin acclimated to the process before trying it at home. Waxing is great because you do not have to do it as often and it takes longer for the hair to grow back. The other plus is that when the hair comes back in, it is usually much thinner and less noticeable over time.
