That is a very sad statistic. But why is that the case and what can you do to ensure that your online business in the upper 10% that makes money?
Unfortunately, most people open their online business without knowing all the rules. Most people think that they will easily start making money as soon as they open the doors. Nothing could be further from the truth. It takes hard work (and plenty of it) to develop a profitable business.
There are 3 keys to making money online, marketing, marketing, marketing. This is where most people fail. Marketing your business is a never-ending job. It is something that has to be done every day. And when you finish today's marketing tasks, you've got to start thinking about how you are going to market your business tomorrow. Most people get bored with the day-to-day marketing efforts and give up before they achieve any meaningful level of success. This is the number one reason why most people fail. They start out with good intentions, but when they realize that it might take longer than expected to make their millions, they slack off and eventually give up.
Just do it! Many people want to get everything absolutely perfect before they show it to the public. They constantly tinker with their website making minute changes. They tweak their sales pages and postpone going live. This is the kiss of death. The benefit of an online business is the fact that it is so easy to make changes. Give it your best shot and put it out there. You'll make much more money by having a good website up for 6 months than you will by having a great website up for 2 weeks.
So get busy, get that website and sales page up there and start marketing. It is the only way that you can be among that upper 10% and earn some cash.
